Projects

In lieu of being unable to find a job right away, I've been working on some things around the house. Two major projects in the works are starting my first garden an compiling articles from Parents magazine.

I am so excited to be able to have a garden this year! There is a garden box in the back yard. It's small, but I think it will work. Some things I hope I am successful in growing are golden beets, peas, goldrush beans, watermelon radishes, yellow pear tomatoes, beefsteak tomatoes, spicy greens, and serrano peppers. I've started by sprouting them inside, since the weather is not quite perfect to plant them outside. They are currently in reused containers that are either compostable or recyclable, because what's the purpose of attempting to have a green thumb if you don't go about it in a "green" way?

Peas, soon to be transplanted; a yellow pear tomato sprout in the bottom left corner (the egg carton they are in is compostable)

Here are some beef steak tomato sprouts that I transplanted to recyclable aluminum cans.

I have a three year subscription to Parents magazine which I plan to renew. This means that I'm going to look like a magazine hoarder if I don't start consolidating the articles I find useful. I have been clipping articles which may presently be of use or may have some use in the future (this includes articles which may apply to our next child). I have put the articles in page protectors and separated them by subject matter. Overall, it's been relaxing and relieving in the sense that I feel more organized.

A picture wouldn't be complete without Julian's toys somewhere in it, right?
